Albert Norris's Story
Oh my goodness, where do I begin to tell the story, lol. Life after Richwood has been a long bumpy ride with many successes and failures along the way. Monroe to Baton Rouge for college was a culture adjustment in itself but being a quick study, I found a lot of things about myself that I hadn't learned in Monroe. For one, I outgrew the nerdy, thin exterior everyone probably remembers me for,lol. The only thing I kept was my intellect, quick wit and my drive to be the best. Baton rouge reared a lot of heartache, discrimination, a pregnancy scare (go figure), joyous times and a self made man. After obtaining my degree in Rehabilitation/Psychology, I continued on with a job that I thought would be a fly by night gig to help me through school. That job turned into an eighteen year career where I moved up from a night clerk to a Retail Territory Supervisor overseeing...Expand for more
a district of stores making good money. Who would have thought that Circle K paid so well? LOL. But the K afforded me a lot of firsts - my first filet mignon, my first stay in a ritzy 5 star resort, my first beautiful 4 bedroom home with pool/spa and my high priced kids (Gucci and Fendi, my pugs). I was grateful that my hard work payed off and believed I had finally made it but being greedy for all the money in the world, I worked a second career with MAC Cosmetics alongside Circle K, starting in 2001 until I was promoted to Regional Manager for GA/MS/AL/Fl Panhandle this past January and was relocated to Atlanta. Now I guess the second half of my life begins. Who knows what the world holds for me but one thing for certain, I will always shoot for the moon, for even if I miss I will be amongst the stars.
